INVITATION TO BID
- A- Sealed bids from Contractors will be received by the Meriwether County Board of Education, Owner, in the Office of the Meriwether County Board of Education, 2100 Gaston Street, Greenville, Georgia 30222, until 10:00 A.M. prevailing time on December 10, 2024, for the construction of the Manchester High School Football Field, Manchester, Georgia.ย
- A- ย ย The scope of the work for this project includes the construction of an artificial turf field at the Manchester High School. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Demolition, grading, storm drainage, and construction of an artificial turf football field.ย
- A- Each bid shall be submitted on the prescribed BID FORM. All blank spaces for bid prices must be filled in, in ink or typewritten, in both words and figures, and the certification shall be completed and executed when submitted. No modifications to the bid form allowed
- A- At the time and place noted above, the bids for the project will be publicly opened and read.ย No extension of the bidding period will be made.ย
- A- Documents may be reviewed and/or obtained at the offices of James W. Buckley & Associates, 114 North Green Street; Swainsboro, Georgia 30401; Phone: 478-237-6467or E-Mail: tam@jwbuckley.com. Electronic documents in .pdf format will be furnished to interested parties at no cost.
- A- Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump-sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after time and date of opening.
- A- Each bid must be accompanied with a BID BOND (Bond only; certified checks or other forms are not acceptable) in an amount equal to 5% of the base bid, payable to the OWNER and issued by a Surety authorized to do business in the State of Georgia, in order to guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract to construct the project strictly within the terms and conditions stated in this bid and in the bidding and Contract Documents, should the construction contract be awarded to him.
A-10. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a bond for the faithful performance on the contract and a bond to secure payment of all claims for materials furnished and/or labor performed in performance of the project, both in amounts equal to 100% of the Contract Price. Both bonds shall be issued by a Corporate Surety authorized to do business with the State of Georgia. All bids submitted shall remain open for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of the bid opening.
A-11. All bids submitted shall be in accordance with the terms of the Georgia Vendor Manual and the laws of the State of Georgia.
A-12. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.
